La Revue Générale Brutaliste
Imagery and notations from our explorations of the brutalist architecture of Paris were presented in an exhibition in the main library space of the mediathèque of the Insitut Francais, South Kensington (May 2017). This was entitled La Revue Générale Brutaliste. It comprised the production of 10 image and text works, taking the form of the covers of an imaginary French architectural magazine. The designs for the covers were based on the evolution of the graphic design of historic examples of architectural journals, such as L’Architecture D’Aujourd’hui. The covers were printed on hand-made Japanese paper, affording them an archival quality, and were presented in close proximity to the library collection.
