The Art of Noises VI: Stereophonica
Modern Art Oxford, 25th November, 2021
As part of an event of live sonic performances at MOA, Photolanguage presented an installation of 50 small images and two new image and text projection sequences to accompany the performance of the sonic compositions Return to Spatial Futures and Concrete Paris by Langham Research Centre (Iain Chambers and Robert Worby). Responding to the SONCities research theme of ‘stereophonics’, we included imagery made with a stereoscopic lens adapter, from Paris, London and Oxford. This included new work from photographic fieldwork conducted in Modernist and Brutalist campuses in Oxford, such as St Catherine’s College (Arne Jacobsen), Wolfson College (Powell and Moya), the Denys Wilkinson Building (Philip Dowson/Arup) and the Hilda Besse building at St Anthony’s College (HKPA).
